Hoping to follow in her parent's footsteps and find a match sparked by true love, Daphne's prospects initially seem to be unrivaled. But as her older brother begins to rule out her potential suitors, the high society scandal sheet written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown casts aspersions on Daphne. Enter the highly desirable and rebellious Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), committed bachelor and the catch of the season for the debutantes' mamas. WHAT PEOPLE SAY...

CRITIC REVIEWS

There are eight episodes of Bridgerton, and they all have endings that are like chapters in a good book: They leave you in a spot where you just want to read one more chapter before you turn off the light for the night.

-Linda Holmes

Bridgerton may not exactly be good for you, but it's addictive. And despite its expert escapism, niggling thoughts emerge as the characters waltz and promenade through gorgeous settings.

- Steve Murray

This is a handsome, lavish romance that will appeal to a large audience, but it's also painstakingly insubstantial.

- Robert Levin

AUDIENCE REVIEWS

I loved this show for the first ~6 episodes, but (!!!SPOILER!!!) when Daphne and Simon finally consummated their lust it became instantly boring, and lost the keen edge of the plot line that had hotly driven the majority of the season. The other characters have pretty good storylines, but once the principles were safely ensconced in their marital thrashings, the other characters had to kind of ricochet around them; their stories seemingly stapled onto and around the now-static Duke and Duchess of Hastings. The show lost its center. I hope the second season has a more balanced set of storylines so that as one story resolves, the others will carry on with their proper and deserved weight.

This makes me feel so cringe. it looks so nice, but it suffers in so many aspects. It's historically inaccurate, the story is soooooo slow-phased. I mean there were very predictable scenes. I think the reason why this show is popular for being diverse which is the reason why I gave 1 star and the thirsty fan who look for the sex scenes.
