CRITIC REVIEWS
Here's my general opinion: I like a good twist, but the twist in Behind Her Eyes is a groaner. The series switches genres, and the final chapter felt to me like a slap in the face -- when it didn't make me laugh out loud at the absurdity.

I admire, for its sheer, nasty audacity, the double twist that ends the story. To achieve its impact, though, the limited series requires you not merely to suspend your disbelief, but strap it to a rocket and send it to the Milky Way.
- Steve Murray
If you're in the mood to crack open a bottle of wine, enjoy some steamy sex, and get your mind blown in one of the silliest ways possible, it's a highly entertaining ride.

AUDIENCE REVIEWS
I hate twists for the sake of twists but I liked this as it was essential to tell the story this way. Also, I didn't like the ending, but not from a production series standpoint, rather from the standpoint that it's not the ending that you would like to see for the characters. Even so, I thought it was a good story. Don't put too much stock in the negative reviews unless you insist on by-the-book stories and genres that don't get too creative and think anything supernatural is silly. I thought the reveal at the end was angering, but mage for a good story nonetheless. It also required you rethink the character relationships from the beginning and they make a bit more sense in that light. The one not-quite-spoiler I'll provide is you go from maybe liking Rob's character (as a decent, likable friend to Adele) to hating him.

I've never hated an ending so much in my life. I like twists, but this didn't have a ‘twist'; it was more like ‘completely change the whole bloody narrative, the genre, character's stories (oh, why not their genders too?), and make the audience have to rethink the ENTIRE STORY in their heads. It wasn't clever when it suddenly made the switch from a ‘domestic suspense/thriller' to being ‘paranormal/sci-fi.' I'll also be throwing away (burning?) my copy of the book that I should've read first if it hadn't been stuck in my storage unit. It would've warned me away. Lucky I didn't watch it on my iPad; I would've broken it chucking it across the room. Solitary caveat: I enjoyed seeing the film locations back in the UK, and the lead actress Simona Brown is excellent in it, but man, did it piss me off.
